Lachlan Goudie: Bright Lights, Big City

In all the decades that I have lived in London I have never lost the thrill of feeling like a stranger here.  I experience a surge of excitement every time I walk beneath the lights of Piccadilly circus, whenever I cross the Thames on Waterloo Bridge or take in the view from a skyscraper in the City.  London is a blast and it’s this feeling of energy, colour and daily drama that I have tried to express in these paintings.
