Sir Gordon Howard Eliott Hodgkin CH CBE was a British painter and printmaker. He studied at the Camberwell School of Art and Bath Acedemy of Art before pursuing his career as an artist.

Hodgkin's works often refer to memories and his own experiences whilst remaining abstract. He first began making original prints in the fifties and after much experimentation, he favoured etching, aquatint and carborundum mixed in with hand-painting.
