Modern British Art: The Lie of the Land
Portland Gallery is excited to present The Lie of The Land, an exhibition representing British landscape art across the twentieth and twenty-first century. From rural countryside to industrial cityscapes, the diverse selection of works invites us into the artists’ world as they see it: drawn in by familiarity, reverence and mystery they reveal their passion for, and emotional connections to the landscape.
Works by CRW Nevinson, Paul Feiler, Ivon Hitchens, John Piper, John Maclauchlan Milne, Dennis Creffield, Bryan Ingham and Liam Hanley are included, as well as a selection of egg tempera paintings by contemporary artist, James Lynch.
