This work illustrates Cadell's familiar sitter, Miss Bertia Don Wauchope with striking glamour and sophistication - a style seen often in his 1920s work. Alongside his model, roses in a vase and the blue and gold chair that Wauchope sits on are recognisable motifs which can be spotted in Cadell's wider work from this period.
