Recognised internationally as a Scottish colourist, Barbara Rae is a Royal Academician, painter and master printmaker.
The rich colour palette comes from Rae's technique of applying acrylics and collage (never oil), producing multi-dimensional artworks. Themes of a socio-political nature run throughout her paintings, with symbols of Celtic culture, weathered artefacts and desert rocks featuring as regular motifs.
