While perhaps best known for his paintings of Norfolk and Suffolk vistas, Edward Seago consistently travelled around the UK and overseas in search of new subjects. In this oil, Seago expertly captures the serenity and grandeur of the South Downs and Sussex landscape. The rugged bright white rocks of the Seven Sisters cliffs are instantly recognisable, set against scenes of water and a vast, cloud-dappled sky: both of which were favoured elements by the artist.
