"Eos was one of three siblings who arrived in Yorkshire
with the idea that they were miniature pigs. Alas, they were simply piglets and
grew, inevitably, to extremely large sizes, and were absolutely impossible to
contain anywhere. They ended up sleeping in luxury in the courtyard outhouse
and processing through the house to the garden to spend the day wreaking havoc
there. Eos was particularly affectionate and often preferred to inspect the
housework while her siblings uprooted the vegetables. I hadn’t appreciated how
highly intelligent and sensitive pigs are. They cannot raise their heads, so it
helps to get down to their level to communicate with them. They are extremely
weighty and grounded but amazingly quick and agile if alarmed - this piece
represents one of those transitional moments." - Jess Wallace
