Keith Vaughan or John Keith Vaughan was a British Painter born in Selsey in 1912. His work primarily focused on muted abstractions of the male nude, as well as images of architecture and landscape.
Originally, he worked in advertising but abandoned the career to pursue artistry in a post-war period. He was self-taught and took up an informal residency with fellow artists and Neo-Romantics Graham Sutherland and John Minton; although, he rapidly developed his own well-known abstract style.
Vaughan also taught at Camberwell College of Arts, the Central School of Art and The Slade.
